What is water writing paper?
Share
1. Basic Definition
Water writing paper is a writing tool that uses water instead of ink. Writing with clean water can produce an ink-like effect. The writing disappears after the water dries and the paper can be reused.
2. Core Principles
- Optical refraction mechanism : When water wets the paper surface, it changes the local light refractive index, resulting in dark handwriting, which returns to its original state after the water evaporates;
- Structural design : One side of the transparent plastic paper is frosted to increase water absorption, and the other side is a colored background or a colored pad to enhance visual contrast.
3. Material composition
- The surface is not coated with chemical materials, and mainly uses physical structure treatment (such as sanding process);
- Some products are coated with special coatings (pigments, rubber powders) to form a water-resistant film to maintain transparency and durability.
IV. Application Scenarios
- Daily practice for calligraphy beginners, saving paper and ink consumption;
- Children's safe graffiti tool to avoid ink contamination.
5. Performance characteristics
Advantages | limitation |
Environmentally friendly and no consumables (no ink required) | The writing times are limited and it is easy to wrinkle and damage |
Instant color development effect | Visual contrast is lower than professional water writing cloth |
6. Differences from Water Writing Paper
- Material differences : Water writing paper is based on paper, while water writing cloth is mostly made of fiber fabric, which is more durable;
- User experience : Water writing cloth is closer to the texture of rice paper and is suitable for professional calligraphy creation
